ITB Berlin Convention 2023 will delve into “Mastering Transformation“ with 20 exciting dedicated Tracks
An ITB Board of Experts made up of top international speakers and industry professionals will discuss new topics at the ITB Berlin Convention 2023 under the motto “Mastering Transformation“
Over the three days, they will share their expertise, offer guidance and clear perspectives on how to navigate transformational process towards a sustainable and successful travel industry.
A premiere at the ITB Berlin Convention 2023 will be the “Board of Experts”, whose members will be responsible for one or more of the planned 15 to 20 thematic tracks. Under the banner “Mastering Transformation”, they will examine hot topics, such as skills shortages, climate change, post-covid recovery and energy transition. Visitors will find numerous answers to these topics in our range of topic tracks at the ITB Berlin Convention.
Among the selected thematic tracks, the “eTravel Track” will be dedicated to technology-driven innovation and digital transformation in the travel industry and how to productively harness it.
The “Marketing & Distribution Track” will gather leading thought leaders from the travel and hospitality industry to provide a global update on how leaders can stay competitive and successfully navigate the transformation processes ahead.
The “ITB Future Track” will delve into the economic and political developments of tomorrow to find out which sustainable trends will put future tourism on the road to success.
Social equity and biodiversity at the core of the numerous tracks
Climate and biodiversity justice is inherently linked to equity and social justice issues central to tourism development.
At the “ITB Responsible Tourism Track”, experts will look at the ways the industry deliver on environmental promises while also transforming itself to be a fairer, more just and more equitable sector. Supported by best practices, debates, scientific input and critical stakeholder discussions and public interaction, this track is about mastering the Now, Next and New Normal in tourism.
The “ITB Diversity Track” will be a discussion platform to create awareness about the necessity to transform tourism and hospitality to make tourism more inclusive, fair and equal. How to provoke structural change regarding gender inequality, racism and all kinds of discrimination? How to ensure human rights are respected in the tourism industry, what are best practices? This track gives the opportunity to learn more about the diverse starting points of engagement and new developments.
Other tracks will also look at the hospitality, destinations (DMO), MICE, tour operators, business travel, airlines and cruises, medical and wellness, youth and adventure.
Not to forget also the new paradigms at work. ITB Future Work Track will analyze new narratives for the attractiveness of work in travel today and tomorrow. Human capital, creativity and hospitality are the fundamental for future success while rules of future work are changing dramatically. The Future Work Track provides then orientation against skills shortage and drain of competence and describes new types and formats of workflows and workspaces. The convention will define the needs and behaviour of young talents as well as of travel professionals in changing times.
