Terror suspect Daniel Khalife has been charged with escaping custody at HMP Wandsworth, the Metropolitan Police has stated.

The 21-year-old escaped the London jail on the morning of September 6, sparking a nationwide manhunt that lasted 75 hours.

The seek for the ex-soldier got here to a detailed when a police officer in plain garments pulled Mr Khalife off his bike on Saturday, September 9, at 10.41am.

Mr Khalife was noticed on a canal towpath in the Northolt space, west London, only some miles away from HMP Wandsworth.

An investigation has been launched by the Ministry of Justice into how the 21-year-old was in a position to escape the London Category B jail.
