Un troublesome Sunday afternoon for vacationers at Montparnasse station. Due to an influence outage in Massy, ​​the circulation of TGV and Ouigo trains was severely impacted, inflicting delays of a number of hours.

According to SNCF, contacted by LCI, the origin of the problem is “a power supply fault”. An electrical energy cable was “broken at the entrance to the tunnel”. If the corporate was banking on a resumption of traffic from 6:30 p.m. this Sunday night, the disruptions stay quite a few.

More than 5 hours late on arrival

At 6 p.m., the SNCF introduced that “the incident on the Atlantique high-speed line” was “finished”. “Train circulation is gradually resuming. However, delays will continue until the end of the day,” it was written on its web site. As it stands, anticipated delays vary from ten minutes to 2 hours departing from Montparnasse station and from one hour and a half to greater than 5 hours for arrivals.

The incident gave rise to a “rescue operation” within the afternoon for a train stopped on the monitor at Marcoussis in Essonne. The locomotive needed to be moved to permit regular traffic to renew and the passengers have been evacuated.
