EA Sports FC 24 followers are threatening to boycott the sport, after a catastrophic error noticed numerous Ultimate Team gamers obtain a 97-rated Lionel Messi Team of the Year (TOTY) card. The coveted Lionel Messi card was rewarded for finishing a Squad Building Challenge (SBC) in 86+ TOTY Leagues. Unfortunately, nonetheless, EA Sports realised its error and rapidly disabled the SBC, leaving latecomers unable to bag the extremely wanted Team of the Year card. Another user describes EA Sports FC 24 as a “predatory” and “poisonous” game, while one fan compares Ultimate Team to a casino masquerading as a game.

Describing himself as a content creator with over 2.5 million subscribers, FIFA influencer NepentheZ believes EA Sports should give everybody a free Messi card.

Responding to an EA Sports FC 24 tweet, NepentheZ writes: “Yeah, the difficulty is you have simply ruined the sport. Free Messi TOTY for everybody imo.”
