Further yellow climate warnings have been issued by the Met Office, as heavy rain is ready to hit massive components of the UK on Saturday night.

The forecaster expects the climate to impression Newcastle and East Anglia alongside England’s east coast, with a warning in place from 7pm till noon on Sunday.

Another recent yellow warning for rain for Cornwall, in addition to components of Devon and Somerset, is because of come into impact at 6pm and final till 6am tomorrow morning.

Millions of drivers would still get behind the wheel despite heavy snow, survey finds

Nearly two our of five (39%) motorists would still get behind the wheel regardless of the amount of snow on the roads, new research suggests.

The RAC, which commissioned the survey, warned that driving during extreme weather “can carry huge risks”.

Some 29% of respondents in the poll of 2,300 drivers admitted scaring themselves after losing control of their vehicle in snow.

Weather warnings for snow have been issued for large parts of the UK on Thursday.

The RAC is advising motorists to check their vehicles and adjust their driving style during the current cold snap, and not take any risks that put themselves and their passengers in danger.

North Wales Police have reported that minor visitors collisions have been reported as a result of ongoing dangerous climate, with rural areas of Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham significantly affected.
