The UK winners of a £61million EuroMillions jackpot have been revealed as  Richard and Debbie Nuttall (each aged 54), from Colne in Lancashire

The fortunate couple from Lancashire received a £61,708,231 share of the £123 million jackpot prize from the draw on January 30 with the opposite successful ticket having been purchased in Spain.

The couple have been driving across the Canary Islands searching for a telephone sign to verify if they’d really scooped the life-changing sum.

Speaking in regards to the win at Mitton Hall Hotel in Clitheroe, Richard mentioned: “It was the second day of our holiday and I had got up early to finish off a bit of work. I noticed the email from The National Lottery stating that there was ‘exciting news about your ticket’. So I checked my National Lottery account and saw the balance had gone up and we’d won £2.60. Fair enough.

“I shut my laptop computer, had breakfast after which we set off for the day, driving across the island. We loved the ocean views, blue skies and windsurfers earlier than heading again.

“It was early afternoon after we noticed one other e-mail saying we should always test our account. I assumed it was odd and there have to be a glitch within the system to get a reproduction e-mail however I logged in once more to my National Lottery account to test. We have been completely shocked, it mentioned we had received over £61M!”
