Two years after Russia’s full-scale invasion started, round a fifth of Ukrainian territory stays below Russian occupation – a repressive regime the place arbitrary detentions, beatings and torture are the norm. Victims and activists need to make sure that such conflict crimes do not go unpunished; Ukrainian courts have already tried some perpetrators, and different circumstances are ongoing. Our correspondent Gulliver Cragg met with one man who, having been a sufferer, turned investigator himself.
