VSIt was not snow that coated the streets of Bayonne (64) within the Basque Country round 11 a.m. this morning, however an intense fall of hail. The metropolis's arteries had been buried underneath a thick layer of hailstones a number of centimeters excessive, the results of a deluge that occurred simply hours after the passage of storm Louis, stunning the area's residents.
A second spectacular hailstorm occurred round 11:30 a.m., inflicting extreme visitors difficulties all through the Pyrénées-Atlantiques division. Ten kilometers of slowdowns had been reported by Bison Futé, on the A63 motorway close to Bayonne. At midday, there have been round ten firefighter interventions underway within the Bayonne-Anglet sector.
Météo-France requires vigilance
Météo-France has positioned the division on “yellow vigilance” for rain-floods, floods, winds and storms. The shoreline can also be on “yellow alert” for wave-submersion danger. “An enhance in orange stage of vigilance just isn’t excluded. »
