The Malaga Festival has eliminated the movie from its programming 'The day is lengthy and darkish'by the American director Julio Hernández Cordón, after having obtained a number of complaints associated to “acts of gender violence.”

The administration of the Malaga Spanish Film Festival, which might be held from March 1 to 10 within the capital of the Costa del Sol, has made this choice to “avoid situations that could attack vulnerability of the affected people”.

The measure, moreover, is “in line with the firm commitment” of the competition “against any type of violence against women and in favor of full equality of rights, guaranteeing protection of victims in any context and circumstance,” he emphasizes in an announcement.
