Daniel Cordier has had a number of lives. There was the distraught admirer of Charles Maurras earlier than the struggle. The devoted and uncompromising secretary of Jean Moulin from 1942. The tireless historian of the Resistance who grew to become virtually 100 years previous, devoted after 1977 to the cult of his former boss. But “Caracalla” (his pseudonym), earlier than his demise in 2020, had stored one other life in his drawers, which had occupied him for greater than thirty years, from 1946 to 1977. In the aftermath of a struggle and a resignation of General de Gaulle which had left him doubly orphaned, the person, all passions, all outbursts, had, disillusioned, turned his again on the Resistance to immerse himself in up to date artwork, about which he knew nothing.
