Söder is freely giving a “mega Easter egg” along with his face | EUROtoday

BAyern's Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) made a reputation for himself with a video on Easter Sunday. In a 35-second sequence he posted to Instagram and X, he praised an outsized chocolate Easter egg that had his personal face on it.

“Hi, it’s Easter. I didn't find a sweater for Easter, but I did find a super Easter egg, a mega Easter egg made of chocolate. It smells wonderful,” mentioned the CSU boss, who likes to put on a reindeer sweater at Christmas. As he mentioned this, an animated white rabbit hopped throughout the display.

“What is particularly successful is that it has been given a very interesting painting,” mentioned Söder, turning the egg over and exhibiting that he himself may be seen within the portrait on it, with the phrases “Happy Easter” beneath.

“Why are you doing something like that Markus?”

“If you like it and find it interesting, then comment on it and we'll give it away in the comments. It'll be super fresh in a few days and everyone who likes it can get it. When requested on Sunday, a CSU spokesman mentioned it was truly a raffle marketing campaign and never an April Fool's joke.
