A Milanese trainer is claimed to have critically injured suspected neo-Nazis in Budapest with German left-wing extremists in 2023. She has been in custody in Hungary for 13 months. Now Italy's president is getting concerned.

IItaly's President has spoken out within the case of a Milan major faculty trainer who’s going through an extended jail sentence in Hungary as a result of she is claimed to have critically injured alleged contributors in a neo-Nazi march. The Hungarian authorities accuse Ilaria Salis of attacking a number of individuals with placing devices along with German left-wing extremists in February 2023. The anti-fascist activist has been in pre-trial detention in Hungary for a superb 13 months, underneath situations that she herself describes as inhumane.

Hungary can be making allegations towards one other Italian in reference to the incident in Budapest. But in contrast to Salis, Gabriele Marchesi is in Italy – and in accordance with a choice by the Italian judiciary, can’t be transferred to Hungary. There he faces “the real risk of inhumane and degrading treatment.”
