70 kilos of hashish found on the mayor of Avallon's dwelling | EUROtoday
VS'is a stunning discovery to say the least, particularly for an elected official of the Republic. As BFMTV discovered from police sources, 70 kilos of hashish have been discovered on the dwelling of Jamilah Habsaoui, the mayor of Avallon, in Yonne. This discovery was made by the police on Sunday, April 7, as a part of a sweeping operation. The operation continues this Sunday afternoon.
According to data from France 3 Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, the gendarmes found this drug on the mayor's household dwelling, in an outbuilding. The latter's brother can be recognized for drug trafficking, convicted because of this ten years in the past. He and their father lived on this outbuilding. It was his brother who allegedly saved the medicine in the home, with out the councilor having been knowledgeable.
The home is positioned in a residential pavilion within the La Morlangue district, on the heights of Avallon. Two gendarmerie vans and a canine group have been dispatched to the scene. At 3 p.m., a white van left the house with the possible seizure inside. Jamilah Habsaoui has been on the head of city corridor since 2021. Before taking workplace, she was the primary deputy of the previous mayor, Jean-Yves Caullet.
