With wonderful value-for-money and intriguing dishes, this new restaurant in central Bordeaux is certain to overcome diners.

Overlooking the Gironde River in Bordeaux's pleasant Chartrons district, this pleasant, recently-opened bistro expresses the interesting zeitgeist of this younger neighborhood, which is in style as a result of it's comparatively inexpensive in comparison with different elements of the town. Easily reached by hopping on one of many metropolis's natty forest-green trams, it's an ideal place for lunch (or terrace eating in good climate) earlier than or after a go to to the close by Cité du Vin, Bordeaux's in style wine museum.

Tea good worth for cash (good high quality for the cash) of the lunch and dinner menus additionally explains the recognition of this place. Dining with a Belgian good friend who's a wine service provider, we began with blood-pudding-stuffed ravioli with oyster mushrooms in rooster jus, a fantastically made dish, and roasted spiced cauliflower with Greek yogurt, cumin and pomegranate seeds, a scrumptious dish for one thing so nutritionally virtuous.

Generously served mains embody grilled bleakfish with pumpkin, miso and rayu sauce and pork tenderloin filled with mushrooms, endive and prunes with garnishes of cocoa nibs, prune coulis and katsuobushi. If the latter sounds dauntingly difficult, it wasn't, as an alternative being a constantly intriguing dish with an enchanting combination of layered flavors and contrasting textures. An wonderful chocolate mousse with pecan praline concluded this excellent meal, and we each appreciated the suave appeal of our Château La Gorce from the Médoc, which was wonderful worth at €26.
