Figures obtained by Panorama have revealed tons of of incidents when essential security tools was out of motion.

National Highways – the company accountable for sensible motorways – says the most recent information reveals that “smart motorways are our safest roads”.

It says security is its highest precedence, and there are well-rehearsed contingency plans to take care of energy outages.
