Yobs armed with catapults have been terrorising a picturesque village within the Home Counties.

A funeral, automobiles and even swans have been focused by the armed group in Godstone, Surrey, in latest weeks.

According to LBC, native rector Peter O’Connell, from St Nicolas Church, says three automobiles had been “shot out” throughout a latest funeral service.

He says mourners had been left “traumatised” after leaving a service solely to search out their automobiles had been broken by the group.

Mr O’Connell defined one of many thirteenth century church’s stained glass home windows had additionally been broken.

In a post on social media, it said: “I’m past livid. Just in from Godstone rescued by Swans and Friends.

“This beautiful old gentleman has lost his eye and has a second wound in his head. How do we stop this epidemic of cruelty and brutality. If you see anything please call 999. What will be next. How long before it’s people?”

The incident involving the swan is claimed to be simply the most recent in Godstone involving a catapult, with injured birds reported close to to Godstone Pond.

“The local team is aware of these issues, and officers have increased patrols in the local area but there is no specific peak time or day identified for when these offences typically take place, which makes it harder to target these patrols most effectively.

“We know that catapulting offences are under-reported, and we would encourage people to always report these offences, as well as any reports of people carrying catapults and suspicious behaviour, as it all helps build up a picture of what is going on in the are

“Following a report of suspicious activity involving persons carrying a catapult, the CCTV was obtained and circulated both internally and on our Facebook page appealing for information to help us identify ID the suspects involved.

“Unfortunately, we now have not been unable to determine the people in these pictures to this point – if we do, we’ll have a look at any interventions which might be put in place”.
