TOKYO — Japan is happy with its “omotenashi” spirit: Its observe of wholeheartedly caring and catering for friends. But a post-covid surge in vacationer numbers, coupled with a weak yen that makes Japan cheaper for a lot of guests, is pushing Japan’s world-famous hospitality to the brink.
