It began with an optimistic imaginative and prescient of a high-tech artwork set up appearing as a digital bridge between Dubliners and New Yorkers.

But inside days, some guests started sharing violent and express pictures and making impolite gestures.

Now the Dublin City Council is briefly pulling the plug.

After being open one week, the Portal is being briefly switched off to research “possible technical solutions to inappropriate behaviour by a small minority of people,” a Dublin City Council spokesperson informed The Washington Post on Tuesday.
