Colin Mayer (London, 1953) is professor emeritus of the Oxford University, member of the British Academy and has been a visiting professor on the universities of Columbia, Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). From 1986 to 2010 he was chairman of Oxera Ltd, one of many largest impartial financial consultancies in Europe.
