A MAN who labored for GCHQ and the Foreign Office accompanying prime ministers and royalty has misplaced an attraction to win again British citizenship after judges dominated he was a double agent for Russia.

The man, who can’t be named for authorized causes, got here to the UK as an asylum seeker in 2000 and labored for police after which the federal government on delicate operations, together with the warfare in Afghanistan.

The man, known as C2 through the attraction, had lived in Russia as an unlawful immigrant from 1994 to 1999.

He claimed throughout an attraction to the Special Immigration Appeal Commission (SIAC) in February that claims he was performing for Russia had been “pure fantasy.”

However, in a judgement revealed on Friday, SIAC judges, who heard a number of the proof in non-public, disagreed.

The SIAC written judgement mentioned that British officers’ “assessment, on advice, that C2 was an agent of the GRU as at September 2019 is amply justified”.

C2’s lawyer, Shirin Marker, mentioned in a press release: “C2 is deeply disappointed with the judgment. He has attempted at all times to provide a full and transparent account of his life, in the face of appeal proceedings in which he has been given the barest of detail about the allegations against him.

“To date, he nonetheless doesn’t perceive the premise for these allegations and he disputes their substance. He is contemplating his authorized choices going forwards.”
