A ten-year-old woman who died in a mudslide whereas on a faculty journey has been named.

Year Six pupil Leah Harrison, from Darlington, died following an incident at Carlton Bank on the sting of the North York Moors on Wednesday 22 May.

A significant operation involving 30 mountain rescuers was launched to save lots of her, in climate situations described as “very poor”, however she died on the scene.

Gary Clarke of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue crew on Thursday mentioned receiving the decision to help, the volunteers concerned and his understanding of what occurred.
