SEOUL — North Korea floated about 260 balloons laden with trash and different waste over the border towards South Korea, Seoul’s navy stated Wednesday, as a direct response towards anti-Pyongyang leaflets coming from the South.

The balloons started touchdown on Tuesday evening. The South’s Joint Chiefs of Staff despatched out notifications to residents warning them to not make contact with the balloons and report them to the police or navy.
