Fico was shot a number of instances on May 15 whereas greeting supporters after a cupboard assembly within the central Slovak city of Handlova in what officers mentioned was an assassination try.

He instantly underwent five-hour surgical procedure in a hospital within the close by metropolis of Banska Bystrica, adopted by one other two-hour surgical procedure two days later.

“Robert Fico was transported from our hospital to Bratislava in the evening hours,” Banska Bystrica hospital spokeswoman Ruzena Mataseje informed AFP.

It was not instantly clear to which hospital within the capital he was moved.

Banska Bystrica hospital director Miriam Lapunikova had mentioned earlier on Thursday that Fico needed to “continue his recovery in home care”.

The hospital mentioned Fico’s progress was “satisfactory”, however his ally Robert Kalinak, a deputy prime minister, mentioned his restoration could be “extremely long”.
