A lady has died after an enormous search and rescue operation off the coast of north Wales. North Wales Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and HM Coastguard groups took half within the response.

A rescue helicopter additionally took half within the operation which was launched at about 3am on Thursday (May 30) after experiences a lady was within the water.

The lady, 57, was discovered within the sea shortly afterwards and flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital the place she died, North Wales Live experiences.

Det Insp Kris Williams from North Wales Police stated: “Our thoughts remain with the woman’s family at this time, who we continue to support.

“The circumstances of the loss of life should not being handled as suspicious and the coroner has been knowledgeable.”

North Wales Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service, RNLI and HM Coastguard have been approached for remark.
