Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer had been repeatedly scolded for shouting over one another throughout their first televised debate of the 2024 basic election.

Mediator Julie Etchingham stepped in a number of occasions because the leaders went head-to-head reside on ITV on Tuesday, 4 June.

The pair had been advised to “stop shouting over each other” as they had been questioned on points resembling NHS ready lists, taxation, and immigration.
