A Ukrainian-Russian man detained in France was on Friday charged with plotting to commit a violent act in a “terrorist” plot, the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office stated.

The man had arrived in France a number of days in the past, the prosecutors stated.

France’s home intelligence company this week detained the person, aged 26, on suspicion of planning a violent act after he injured himself in an explosion.

The investigation will proceed to determine different folks “who may be involved”, the prosecutors stated.

The suspect was charged with participation in a “terrorist conspiracy” and possession of a substance or explosives with a view to harming folks, the prosecutors stated.

On Friday the injured man appeared earlier than a choose, who was to resolve whether or not to remand him in custody.

The man was handled by a hearth brigade on Monday night after “he suffered serious burns following an explosion”, the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT) stated.
