LThe singer Gims was reportedly approached to sing on the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games. In an interview given to the Belgian media Ciné-Télé-Revue, the artist claims to have refused to take part.
“I could have done it, but it wasn’t my will,” he broadcasts. The artist emphasizes that he has “already had the chance to perform one of the anthems of the 2022 World Cup, during the closing ceremony. I don't think we can get any bigger. I don’t want to be everywhere,” he confides. After singing “Arhbo”, one of many anthems of the 2022 Football World Cup in Qatar, Gims mentioned within the columns of Parisian that “for an artist, an event which brings together more than a billion people cannot be refused, it’s a source of pride, it’s enormous”.
