Poland’s new pro-EU authorities has taken sweeping steps to reform the nation’s public media shops. It claims the actions are vital to revive press independence after eight years of populist rule. But the scenario could also be extra sophisticated. Until a brand new unbiased press is created, the federal government is benefiting from beneficial protection, very like the earlier administration.
