Sir Tony Blair has needed to inform Sir Keir Starmer {that a} girl has a vagina and a person has a penis.

The Labour chief mentioned he agreed with the previous Prime Minister after Sir Keir beforehand mentioned that “99.9% of women” do not need a penis.

Sir Keir at the moment backed the previous prime minister’s current feedback on the definition of a lady.

Sir Tony had instructed Holyrood journal: “I don’t know how politics got itself into this muddle.

“What is a woman? Well, it’s not a very hard thing for me to answer really.

“I’m definitely of the school that says, biologically, a woman is with a vagina and a man is with a penis. I think we can say that quite clearly.”

Sir Keir has repeatedly confronted questions on his views on transgender points and has confronted criticism for a few of his earlier remarks on the subject.

“I saw it reported, I’m not quite sure when he said it, but I agree with him on that.”

Sir Keir mentioned final 12 months that “99.9% of women” do not need a penis and in 2021 mentioned it was “not right” for Labour MP Rosie Duffield to state that “only women have a cervix”.

But he has since mentioned about Ms Duffield’s assertion that “biologically, she of course is right about that”.

Ms Duffield, who has been the goal of abuse over her defence of ladies’s rights and female-only areas, on Tuesday described as “really disappointing” a suggestion by a Labour peer that she was scared or lazy after she cancelled native hustings over security considerations.

Lord Cashman, a former EastEnders star and Labour MEP, known as her “frit or lazy” after she mentioned her attendance was “impossible” as a result of the “actions of a few fixated individuals” had affected her “sense of security and wellbeing”.

The peer has had the Labour whip suspended over the feedback, which Sir Keir criticised as “particularly inappropriate”.

Ms Duffield, who’s standing for re-election in Canterbury, instructed Times Radio: “It’s really disappointing.

“He’s absolutely entitled to his views. I just think it was unfortunate that he made it so personal, considering he doesn’t know me.”

Lord Cashman apologised for his remarks following a backlash.

Meanwhile Sir Keir this morning mentioned he believes single-sex areas must be protected.

He mentioned: “I passionately suppose we should always defend single areas for ladies and women, that is one thing I’ve been clear about for a really very long time.

“Whether that’s in sports activities, whether or not that is within the work I did, notably within the help refuges for these which have been subjected to violence – bodily or sexual – it is very essential that we protect that.
