LThe EU is getting its toes moist… slightly. The outcomes of the presidential election in Venezuela, formally gained by President Nicolas Maduro, “cannot be recognised”, the European Union stated on Sunday.
“Despite its commitment to do so, the National Electoral Council of Venezuela (CNE) has still not published the official minutes of the polling stations. In the absence of evidence to support them, the results published on 2 August by the CNE cannot be recognised,” the EU Council stated in an announcement.
Unlike the United States and several other different international locations, the EU has kept away from recognizing the victory of opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia.

The CNE ratified Mr Maduro's victory on Friday with 52% of the vote towards 43% for Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia, who changed at brief discover the chief of the opposition Maria Corina Machado, declared ineligible for the July 28 election.
