A mum has deserted common low cost supermarkets, claiming that her household “save so much money” by purchasing at Marks and Spencer.

Despite M&S’ fame as a extra luxurious place to buy meals, Charlotte, a mother-of-one, insists it gives higher worth for cash and superior high quality.

The Glasgow-based content material creator, who shares her life hacks and parenting recommendations on her Instagram web page @mamatoflow, managed to buy 5 days’ value of meals for her household of three for simply £52.

Charlotte’s purchasing checklist included chocolate, crisps, fruit, greens, pasta, cereal, spices, sauces, beans, eggs, and extra. “We decided to ditch Aldi and start shopping at M&S and not only are we saving so much money, but the quality of the food is so much better,” she acknowledged.

The mum lately posted a video of her meals store on her web page, admitting: “Being totally transparent, I do understand why people get a little bit of a bad reputation for themselves when they exclusively shop at M&S. We’re a family-of-three, we’re a relatively young couple to have had children anyway and there is also a cost of living going on at the moment. We’re a single income household.”

Discussing the standard comparability, she added: “One thing that really does wind me up, especially as a household which consumes so many fruits and vegetables, is just how poor the quality of [budget supermarket] produce is – more often than not.

“To be completely trustworthy after I did that meals store final week [at M&S]I used to be form of anticipating it to be slightly little bit of novelty however because it seems it was form of on par with Aldi for lots of issues, however that’s positively excluding issues like meat – however personally I’m prepared to sacrifice on these issues.”

The mum does not want to “ever be that particular person” who says you should shop at M&S instead of budget supermarkets, because she recently also shopped at Asda and Aldi, but she prefers M&S. “I’m not above purchasing at these shops,” she insisted.

People rushed to agree with the mum, with many pointing out the good quality at M&S. “I’m with you on this one, M&S is nice high quality and Sainsbury’s,” said one individual. Another commented: “M&S, rice, pasta, tea baggage, condiments, breads and frozen sections are implausible worth. Also their Good Move garments for train are high quality worth too.”

A third said: “Absolutely agree with what you’ve got stated in regards to the high quality. We began purchasing at M&S a few years again and on the event I’ve gone into different supermarkets their fruit and veg has been horrible as compared. The style, the longevity and I do not see an enormous distinction in value both.”

But some people pointed out that the mum didn’t get all the items they would include in a typical weekly food shop. “I did not see any precise dinners in that trolley, simply fruit and veg,” said one.

Another remarked: “There is not sufficient objects right here to cook dinner a correct household meal for per week – no meat, no fish, nothing to placed on a sandwich, no yogurt, no treats hardly. This is only a trolley of things not meals.”

Meanwhile, an Aldi regular pointed out: “I store at Aldi and I simply can’t afford to do the identical store at M&S but when that is your weekly store mine is twice that measurement. I purchase the fruit and permit it to ripen as I’ve present in something the fruit wants extra time.”
