Politologist and economist, James Robinson, holder of the Pearson Chair in International Conflict Studies on the University of Chicago, has simply acquired the Nobel Prize in Economics alongside together with his colleagues and pals Daron Acemoglu and Simon Johnson. Three researchers, working within the United States, distinguished “for their studies on how institutions are formed and affect prosperity”.

In 2019, our columnist Yascha Mounk spoke with Robinson in his podcast “The Good Fight”, at a time when the longer term Nobel Prize winner had simply revealed the unique version of Narrow Corridor: States, Societies, and the Eternal Struggle for Freedom (which can be translated in 2021 by Ana-Luisa Marolles at Les Novateures).
