CNN Fact-Checker Says This Trump Ad May Be ‘Most Deceptive’ Of 2024 Election | EUROtoday
CNN fact-checking reporter Daniel Dale on Tuesday broke down a brand new spot launched by Donald Trump’s marketing campaign that Dale mentioned “might be the single most deceptive campaign ad I’ve seen all cycle.”
The video took goal at Democratic nominee Kamala Harris’ tax plan.
But it included “two just horrifically-edited quotes plus a made-up statistic,” Dale identified.
The begin of the advert pointed to an August article in The New York Times which warned, “Harris is seeking to significantly rase taxes.”
Dale highlighted, nonetheless, that the total quote was truly, “Harris is seeking to significantly raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans and large corporations.”
“So those very important words edited out,” mentioned Dale.
In one other a part of the advert, Harris was seen saying that “taxes are gonna have to go up.” But, as Dale famous, the total context of what Harris truly mentioned in 2019 was that “state taxes are gonna have to go up for the richest Americans.”
