Chisum, which is on ITV4 this afternoon, was John Wayne’s first film of the Seventies, which might even be the Western legend’s ultimate decade.

The movie was primarily based on the Lincoln County War of 1878 with Duke starring as John Simpson Chisum, a rich cattle baron of the American West.
