Walworth market stabbing: Armed police rush as a number of folks attacked | UK | News | EUROtoday

The Met Police launched an investigation after a deadly stabbing at a market in southeast London.

Emergency companies rushed to the favored market in Walworth following a number of experiences of stabbing on the morning of November 10.

An announcement by the drive learn: “An investigation has been launched following the fatal stabbing of a man in Walworth.

“Police had been referred to as at round 10:40hrs on Sunday, 10 November, to experiences of numerous folks stabbed in East Street, SE17.”

Three people, the spokesperson continued, were found injured by officers upon their arrival. One man sadly died at the scene, the Met Police said.

The force continued: “Two different folks – a person and a girl – had been taken to hospital for therapy. We await an evaluation of their situation.”

An arrest was made, with the spokesperson saying: “Officers attended the placement together with ambulance colleagues. A person, believed to be aged in his 60s, was arrested on the scene and brought into police custody.”

Officers are usually not on the lookout for anybody else in reference to the assault. However, they mentioned the investigation is at an early stage.

Speaking concerning the incident, Commander Peter Stevens mentioned: “Tragically, a man lost his life this morning, and officers are working hard to establish exactly what happened and to provide support to his family. My thoughts and sincere sympathies are with them, and with the other people injured.

“Our investigation is at a very early stage. One man was rapidly arrested by officers responding to the incident. At present, although enquiries are ongoing, nobody else is sought.

“The incident is not being treated as terrorism. Enquiries continue, led by dedicated detectives from Specialist Crime.

“I want to thank those people who have already shared their accounts of what they saw with police. I urge anyone with information or footage, or any witnesses yet to speak with police, to get in touch.”
