Republican congresswoman Lauren Boebert briefly adopted her former colleagues Matt Gaetz and George Santos onto the paid video app Cameo – earlier than abruptly deactivating her account.

The controversial Colorado consultant posted a clip on Saturday providing “America First pep talks”, birthday needs, or different recorded messages for a payment of $250 or extra.

The account reportedly didn’t initially determine her as a serving congresswoman, as a substitute describing her as an “influencer”, a “political commentator”, and “not your typical Republican politician”.

Aaron Scherb, senior director of legislative affairs on the political watchdog group Common Cause, advised Colorado Politics that it isn’t clear whether or not Boebert’s accounts would have been allowed as a result of the House Ethics Committee hasn’t but addressed the query.

“Until they provide some sort of formal guidance, the expectation is that members would probably be allowed to sign up for it,” stated Scherb. “It seems like it could potentially violate the ban on honoraria, but it’s untested.”
