MSNBC’s Chris Hayes on Wednesday drew consideration to the hanging similarities between the warnings surrounding President-elect Donald Trump’s financial insurance policies for his return to the White House and people supplied forward of the disastrous funds that led to the downfall of Liz Truss, the United Kingdom’s shortest-serving prime minister, in 2022.

Meanwhile, Trump’s vow to hike tariffs, slash trillions of {dollars} in public spending and deport hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants has been equally dubbed a “disastrous recipe” for inflation and slowed financial progress by 23 Nobel Prize-winning economists, amongst others.

“Just like the Tories and Truss in London two years ago, Donald Trump has told us what he plans to do, and just like them, the critics have said, ‘This looks like it’s going to be devastating if you do it,’” Hayes stated, acknowledging the similarities between the U.S. and U.Ok. political methods.

“And now I guess we just wait to see if we’re about to enter the ‘finding out’ phase of the story,” he concluded.
