Typhoo Tea has been rescued by vape maker Supreme which can purchase the corporate for £10m.

The 120-year-old teamaker fell in to administration in November as its gross sales slumped and money owed rose.

The new proprietor stated the deal retains Typhoo “in British hands” however that manufacturing shall be moved overseas.

Manchester-based Supreme makes the e-cigarette model 88Vape and distributes nicotine and residential merchandise to supermarkets.

“Typhoo is such an iconic brand,” stated Supreme chief govt Sandy Chadha. “I grew up with Typhoo. Drinking it and watching the ‘you only get an OO with Typhoo’ ads with Su Pollard from Hi-di-Hi. That was my era.”

He stated the acquisition was a part of Supreme’s technique to diversify the agency’s choices. Although it doesn’t at present personal a tea model, it does work with manufacturers of sentimental drinks, gymnasium dietary supplements and multivitamin gummies.
