France’s new prime minister would be the nation’s fourth this 12 months and the sixth prime minister of Macron’s presidency after the toppling of Michel Barnier, who lasted solely three months.
“As this political crisis drags on it calls into question not only France’s overall political stability but Emmanuel Macron’s own position,” says FRANCE 24’s senior reporter, Catherine Norris Trent, reporting from exterior the Elysée Palace in Paris.
