Only AfD can save Germany, finish of story.” Elon Musk puts all his weight behind the Alternative für Deutschland election campaign. In a 75-minute conversation with the candidate for the Chancellery, Alice Weidel, broadcast yesterday on his X platform, the techno-billionaire spoke out for the ultra-right movement for the third time in a few weeks. Elective affinities, such as those that lead Donald Trump’s alter ego to support the British far right. In Italy, relations are excellent with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

It’s all Merkel’s fault for renewables

The chat on the destinies of Germany and the world begins with Musk inviting Weidel to explain what Afd is and ends with questions about the meaning of the universe, with a drift halfway between the reality show and Douglas’ “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” Adamas. Weidel launches into a strong piece of his repertoire, the tirade against Angela Merkel, responsible for all evils, from openness to immigration to the push for renewable sources. Usually, the party uses the expression Lügenpresse, lying press (translated into “faux information” in the Trumpian vocabulary). The harmony with Musk here is total, as well as on the allergic aversion to woke thinking and political correctness: in the German schools described by Weidel, only “socialist and gender nonsense” is taught. Complete harmony obviously on immigration, which brings masses of “criminals” to the United States and Germany, thanks to the left. “Crazy! Incredible!”, agree Musk and Weidel. And laughter.

«Hitler was a communist»

The protection of “freedom of speech”, threatened by the principles of the European Union, couldn’t be lacking. And right here the surreal begins to rear its head, with Weidel not solely evaluating the EU to Hitler and Nazi censorship, however underlining that the German National Socialist Party truly had “socialist” in its title (coincidences?). More: «Hitler was not a conservative, however a communist, a socialist. Period!”, reveals Weidel, throwing away decades of lying historiography. On the contrary, “the AfD is a conservative and liberal occasion.”

And if the war in Ukraine can be dismissed by asserting that “so many are dying for nothing” (Musk), on the Middle East Musk is eager to make Weidel say that the State of Israel has the fitting to exist. Not solely that: «Afd is the one true defender of the Jews in Germany», she assures.
