Hostages’ households are looking forward to the return of their family members however stay “tense” ready for a deal between Israel and Hamas.

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu says a deal to return hostages held within the Gaza Strip has been reached, after his workplace had mentioned earlier there have been last-minute snags in finalising the ceasefire.

Speaking in Hostages Square, Tel Aviv, Shay Dickmann advised The Independent of her hopes for the return of the remaining hostages following the discharge of her relative Yarden Roman-Gat.

Israel confirmed the loss of life of Dickmann’s cousin, Carmel Gat, who was taken hostage within the 7 October assault by Hamas.
