According to the Institute of German Economy (IW), new contract rents in massive cities have elevated considerably. In Berlin, Essen and Frankfurt am Main, tenants needed to pay a minimum of 8 % extra. Ulrike Hamann-Onentz from the Berlin Tenants’ Association raises the alarm.
