WASHINGTON ― Lawmakers on Thursday formally reprimanded Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) for making a scene throughout President Donald Trump’s speech on the Capitol this week.

The House of Representatives adopted a censure decision by Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-Wash.) chiding Green for his “breach of proper conduct” at Tuesday’s presidential tackle.

Ten Democrats joined all Republicans in supporting the decision, with two Democrats voting “present.”

Rep. Ami Bera (D-Calif.) was one of many 10 Democrats who voted for the Green censure decision.

“It is my belief that the caucus cannot be a distraction,” Bera informed HuffPost. “The focus has to be on what Trump’s doing, how he’s dismantling government, what he’s doing weakening us around the world, what he’s doing sounds like he’s going to try to shut down the Department of Education, so we cannot be a distraction.
