A British man faces 10 years in a Thai jail after allegedly being caught with 38kg of hashish whereas making an attempt to board a flight to London.

Daniel James Hallett, 38, was detained whereas at Krabi International Airport final weekend after customs officers flagged his baggage as suspicious.

They then allegedly discovered 35 packages of hashish vacuum-sealed in his baggage and wrapped in a number of baggage to cover the odor.

Hallet, from Hull, runs a haulage firm and is being held in Nuea Khlong District police station in the course of the investigation, in keeping with The Telegraph.

Apichat Jinaphen, superintendent of the police station, informed native media: “In this case, [Hallett] was arrested for attempting to export goods that had not undergone customs clearance, in violation of the customs act.
