PTo play the Dorian Gray, the watches have a secret: the alloy from which their containers, ingeniously machined within the laboratories of the massive names in watchmaking. The goal? That they will face up to oxidation, shocks and particularly the time that’s rolled out.
For their half, by creating their workshop within the Swiss city of Lengnau, in 1917, the Schlup brothers ignored the destiny that awaited them. The success was there, and their firm, initially specialised within the manufacture of actions, finally ends up adopting a reputation which means “wheel” at Espéranto. The first assortment of watches, referred to as Rado, was born in 1957, however it was in 1962 that the general public found an avant-garde mannequin, which was going to forge the repute of Rado as “master of materials”.
