Fabien Roussel evokes “anti-white racism” on CNews, and attracts criticism from LFI | EUROtoday
The secretary of the Communist Party, Fabien Roussel, judged, Tuesday, March 25, that anti-white racism existed ” Of course “arousing the indignation of deputies La France rebellious (LFI). Asked about CNews about this idea disputed by sure sociologists particularly, Mr. Roussel replied: “Of course it exists”.
“But anti-white racism, anti-black racism, anti-chinese racism, anti-Asian (…) It’s terrible. And you know what is this racism of all kinds? It is made to divide the people, to divide the French, whatever their color and their origin ”indignant the chief of the PCF.
“And throughout this time, I can let you know that enterprise thrives. Financiers, the financial world, no downside. While within the backside, the folks tear themselves off and divide (…) And I’m bruised by that “he completed.
This position of Mr. Roussel caused reprobation in the “rebellious” ranks. The deputy of Seine-Saint-Denis, Bastien Lachaud, accused the communist of “Push the boundaries”. “Rarely a pacesetter of a left group could have carried out a lot to blur the landmarks, trivialize ideas from the acute proper and thus contribute to the ideological defeat of our social camp”he commented on X, accusing Mr. Roussel of “Flatter ready-to-think reagge”. “This gentleman won’t ever be my companion or my comrade”abounded another LFI deputy from Seine-Saint-Denis, Aly Diouara.
This controversy is part of an already tense context between communists and “rebellious”, the latter regularly accuses the PCF boss of using an extreme right rhetoric, as when he had used the term of “TOCKS” in 2023.
A concept challenged by sociologists
The debate on anti-white racism has rebounded in recent days with the publication of an inquiry book on the homicide case in Crépol (Drôme), where a teenager was killed in 2023. While investigators are still looking to determine the author of the mortal stabs, the work, which gives first names of people imposed, stresses the political recovery of this case around an alleged affair “Anti-white racism”in media and elected officials having made insecurity a recurring theme.
But the very concept of anti-white racism, originally theorized and disseminated by the extreme right, is challenged by sociologists who consider that such a form of racism is either residual, or cannot exist in the absence of systemic discrimination against whites.
However, many political figures from all stripes, based on their experience or current events, take up the expression on their own, as recently the government spokesperson Sophie Primas, who said on Sunday that he had “No modesty” to evoke it.
