Judges who convicted Marine Le Pen on embezzlement prices and banned the far-right politician from public workplace for 5 years have confronted loss of life threats because the sentencing earlier this week. FRANCE 24’s Sharon Gaffney speaks to Andrew Smith, lecturer in liberal arts at Queen Mary, University of London. He says that the ramping up of rhetoric in opposition to the judiciary is especially harmful and ‘it reeks of 1934’.
