The Supreme Court advised the Trump administration final week that it should “facilitate” Abrego Garcia’s return. Officials have stated Abrego Garcia’s deportation was the results of an “administrative error.”

But the Department of Justice has been adamant the courtroom lacks jurisdiction over what it claims is now a matter of “international relations.”

During Monday’s assembly, Bukele advised reporters he had no intention of intervening in Abrego Garcia’s case.

“How can I return him to the United States?” he stated. “Like if I smuggle him into the United States?”

“Of course I’m not going to do it,” he added. “The question is preposterous. We’re not very fond of releasing terrorists.”
