Pope Francis’ demise on Monday, regardless of his well-advanced age, got here as a shock to many, FRANCE 24’s Seema Gupta stated, reporting from Rome

After interviewing those who gathered at Saint Peter’s Square following the announcement of the pope’s passing, Gupta stated many had been shocked upon studying the information.  

“Clearly, an emotional day, an Easter Monday … considering what happened on Sunday, I think that’s why it came as such a shock to so many”, Gupta stated, citing Pope Francis’ transient public look on Sunday.
