Greater Anglia to be nationalised, says rail operator | EUROtoday
Greater Anglia is ready to be nationalised later this 12 months, the rail operator has mentioned.
The firm, which runs trains throughout the East of England and into London, mentioned it might be introduced underneath public possession on 12 October.
It mentioned prepare providers, timetables and station services could be unaffected by the transition, and staff’ roles would all switch throughout.
Martin Beable, the corporate’s managing director, mentioned the agency would “remain focused” on delivering its providers. The Department for Transport has been approached for remark.
Greater Anglia runs trains all through Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, together with the Stansted Express airport service.
Mr Beable mentioned: “I am very proud of what we have achieved here in East Anglia over the past 13 years, significantly improving standards, investing in a complete fleet of new trains and working closely with the local community.”
